Basic RiderCourse
The Basic RiderCourse is best place to start once you've made the decision to learn how to ride. Covers the basics of operating a motorcycle and safety-oriented mental strategies. Motorcycles and helmets are provided for your use. Successful completion of this course (consisting of a three-hour eCourse, five hours of formal classroom activities, and ten hours of riding instruction conducted over two days, plus knowledge and skill tests) waive the license test in Colorado. The course may also earn you an insurance discount.

Class times are approximate and could go shorter or longer than indicated. We typically send an email reminder 24-48 hours prior to class. If any class doesn't meet the minimum of four students, it may be rescheduled.

Who Should Take This Class:
The best place for new riders to start once you've made the decision to ride.
Riders wanting their Colorado motorcycle endorsement. (other States MAY also accept this course)
Anyone who has little to no motorcycling experience.
Military personnel wanting to fulfill installation requirements.
Riders returning to motorcycling after a few years of not riding.
Riders seeking motorcycle insurance discounts from many major insurance carriers.
Pre-requisites:
Able to balance and ride a bicycle
A valid driver's license or permit.
Completion of the eCourse prior to the first day of class.
What to Expect:
An online eCourse to help you understand the principles of motorcycling and determine whether motorcycling is right for you.
11 hours of in-person instruction over two days.
Learn the strategies to mentally and physically operate a motorcycle successfully.
Range exercises include low-speed maneuvers and basic skills such as shifting, accelerating, braking, cornering, U-turn, and lane changes.
You’ll be with the same group for the duration of your training.
You’ll receive individual RiderCoach feedback while learning to ride.
Motorcycles (CSC SG250) and helmets are provided.
The course concludes with a classroom knowledge test and hands-on riding skill evaluation.
Once all parts of the course are successfully completed, a RiderCoach will hand you a course completion card. This can then be presented for a motorcycle endorsement.
What to Bring:
Food/beverages for breaks and lunch.
Any riding gear you prefer.
Pen/pencil for classroom sessions.
What you MUST Wear:
DOT Certified ¾ or full-faced helmet (One will be provided if you don't have one).
Shatter-resistant eye protection.
Sturdy over-the-ankle footwear (non-canvas).
Long-sleeved shirt or jacket.
Long non-flare denim pants or equivalent protective material, free of holes.
Full-fingered gloves, preferably leather.
If you must reschedule and fail to contact us at least 72 hours before the start of your class, a $75 rescheduling fee will be applied. Please contact Ace Rider Motorcycle School so that we are made aware of any special medical requirements or other special considerations that may be required.
